Subject: ice balloons activity up
Hello IFI grads,
At last, the "Raising Questions: ice balloons" activity is up and posted on
our web page.
It is an activity that was meant to help teachers in workshops think about
how to help their students to come up with questions that can lead to
investigation.
It has been very well received in workshops, and has also been used by some
teachers in their classrooms to help their students become accostomed to
raising questions.
"Ice balloons" are frozen water balloons. They are so neat that it is hard
to fool with them for any length of time and not come up with some
questions - it has worked in this regard with both teachers and students.
It has also been used as the basis of an investigation into states of
matter, and as a material to substitute for foam in the three kinds of
hands-on science activity.
If you have had (or have) experiences doing the ice balloons activity,
please share them on the ice balloons discussion section of the page.
The activity is posted at:

Enjoy!
