Part-Time Library Assistant Position Available

The Library seeks a part-time (20 hours per week / 4 days per week) Library Assistant.
Primary Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the Library Director, the Library Assistant is responsible for library support services including interlibrary loans, and materials ordering and processing; as well as participating in special projects as required and assisting at circulation desk as needed. Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Demonstrated computer literacy including accurate typing and word processing skills, specifically in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to work harmoniously with all segments of a diverse campus community, and to work independently
- Ability to take initiative when appropriate, as well as work in a team environment
- Strict attention to detail and good organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and work with frequent interruption
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Completion of, or credit toward, a Bachelor's Degree, Associate Degree, or Library Technician Certificate
- Experience working in library technical services, including OCLC and DocLine
- Familiarity with Library of Congress classification
- Experience with materials processing, including serials
- Experience with automated library system—specifically, Voyager system, highly desirable
Salary: $15.00 per hour
Overtime: Non-exempt
