Research Services Librarian

Lane Library and Knowledge Management Center (http://lane.stanford.edu) creates opportunities for discovery, translation, learning and collaboration by providing faculty, staff, and students with easy, efficient access to in-context knowledge whenever and wherever it is needed to support patient care, education and research. The KMC focuses on acquisition and integration of knowledge sources, consultation and instruction in information finding and manipulation, learning spaces and computing labs, and technology support for the curriculum.

The Research Services Librarian is a fixed term position (6 months) that reports directly to the Associate Director for Research & Instruction in the Stanford School of Medicine’s Lane Medical Library & Knowledge Management Center. This position works closely with other Lane Liaisons and Information Services Librarians to perform research support and information literacy instruction for faculty, students, and staff in the Stanford University Medical Center. This position will provide reference and end-user training for searching biomedical resources, develop training materials and tutorials for the LaneConnex website, consultation on managing information, and perform literature searches on PubMed and other biomedical databases.

This position requires at least 3 years of experience in using and searching biomedical databases and demonstrated experience in conducting end-user training to large and small groups. An MLS degree from an ALA-accredited graduate library school or the equivalent in training and experience is required.
