EXPERIMENTS IN PHYSICS WITH DR. FRANK OPPENHEIMER

Program 37: The Potentiometer

This experiment involves a standard slide wire potentiometer. The slide wire is two meters long. Potential of a dry cell is compared to the potential of the standard cell with various values of the "internal resistance" of the dry cell. By measuring the potential of the dry cell with a standard voltmeter, the value of using the null method for potential measurements is demonstrated.
