Solo Librarians Meeting on September 27th

 

The Solo Librarians of the San Andreas Chapter of SLA invite you to join
them for their next meeting on September 27th. Anyone with an interest
in small libraries is welcome, including students and recent grads of
the MLIS programs. 

 

Sonia Dorfman will be hosting the meeting at 6 P.M. on Wednesday,
September 27th  at NeuroPace, Inc. at 1375 Shorebird Way, near Shoreline
Amphitheater in Mt. View. Below is a link for more information about
NeuroPace and a map link with directions to the facility. 

 

A representative of Califa (www.califa.org <http://www.califa.org/> ),
which according to their website "is a membership-based service bureau
designed to provide member-enhanced, value-added services to all
California libraries. On behalf of its members, Califa brokers and
facilitates the delivery of products and services. The Califa Group also
sponsors statewide projects such as Librarians' Index to the Internet
and the California Preservation Program <http://cpc.stanford.edu/> ". 

 

At the present time Califa serves mostly large public and academic
libraries. It will be interesting to see how Califa relates to the
smaller, mainly corporate libraries represented by the solo's group. We
will be sharing a meal before the presentation and will announce what
will be served in our next bulletin.
