Since I received so many positive comments and library links from this
site last year, I wanted to let you know that is has now relaunched!
FYI, the relaunch of this site has been designed to provide year-round
information. In addition to information on upcoming health ballot
measures, news and updates will also be tracked for adopted measures
back to 2004.
Please let me know if you would like additional information about this
site, or any of our other sites and services.
Thank you....djs

Dear Colleague:
In recent years Californians frequently have been asked to vote on
ballot measures involving health care issues. Again this November,
voters will decide on two new propositions that could have a significant
impact on health care in California. Evaluating the strengths and
weaknesses of the measures is a difficult task.
The California HealthCare Foundation (CHCF) and the Center for
Governmental Studies (CGS) have created HealthVote.org
<http://www.chcf.org/track/url.cfm?u=41979&rurl=www%2Ehealthvote%2Eorg>
to help voters track California's health-related propositions, both past
and present, at a single website.
HealthVote.org
<http://www.chcf.org/track/url.cfm?u=41979&rurl=www%2Ehealthvote%2Eorg>
provides comprehensive, non-partisan information and analysis of these
measures on the November 7 ballot:
* Proposition 85: Waiting Period & Parental Notification for
Minors' Abortions
* Proposition 86: Tobacco Tax
Now in its third year, HealthVote.org has added two new features to make
it more useful for voters:
* Check-Up: Follow-up analyses and post-election media coverage
about adopted health-related ballot measures since 2004.
* RSS ("Real simple syndication"): Allows users to receive the
latest HealthVote.org content delivered directly to their desktops.
HealthVote.org
<http://www.chcf.org/track/url.cfm?u=41979&rurl=www%2Ehealthvote%2Eorg>
offers non-partisan campaign finance analysis along with independent
reviews and spending estimates of television advertising. It also
includes in-depth background information, official ballot summaries,
news, editorials, statewide poll results, and weekly email updates on
key issues.
CHCF <http://www.chcf.org/track/url.cfm?u=41980&rurl=www%2Echcf%2Eorg>
and the Center for Governmental Studies
<http://www.chcf.org/track/url.cfm?u=41981&rurl=www%2Ecgs%2Eorg> seek
to offer objective analysis to assist the media and voters in assessing
the ballot measures and making informed decisions. Neither organization
has taken a position on either of the initiatives.
