MEETING THE FUTURE: DYNAMIC LAW LIBRARIANSHIP IN THE 21ST CENTURY

NOCALL, SANDALL, and SCALL are pleased to announce an all California
Chapter Institute scheduled for March 14-15, 2003 at the Embassy Suites
Hotel, San Luis Obispo, California. Entitled "Meeting the Future: Dynamic
Law Librarianship in the 21st Century," the institute will address
challenges facing law librarians at the beginning of the new century.
Attendees will hear presentations on the USA Patriot Act and privacy
rights, the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002, Native American Law, virtual
reference, recent changes to AACR2, and more. Registration materials will
be sent shortly. Hotel information and registration costs are included at
the end of this message. "Life in the Fastlane," a free pre-conference
sponsored by Thomson West will be held on Thursday, March 13, 2003 at the
Embassy Suites. Pre-conference registration begins immediately and will be
capped at 25 registrants. Registration will be on a first-come,
first-served basis. "Life in the Fast Lane for Information Professionals"
is a one-day course that prepares employees to remain high performers
during periods of change at all stages in their careers. Participants will
learn how they are affected by change, techniques to successfully manage
change and how to respond in a variety of situations. This course is
designed specifically to address the unique issues and work environments
