Senator Alpert has scheduled a press conference tomorrow morning, Thursday
at 11:30 in Sacramento to make a final effort to bring attention to the
need for SB 1161, the 2006 Library Construction and Renovation Bond Act.
The Finance Dept. is still opposed to the bill.

Thanks very much to those of you who have contacted the Governor. Although
the Governor has until the end of the month, we expect that he will sign
or veto the bill in the next day or two. We desperately need to make a
final push - the attachment to this e-mail contains information about SB
1161 and how to contact the Governor by phone, e-mail and fax. Please use
whatever methods work best for you and urge everyone that you know that
cares about libraries to do the same in the next day or two.
