Hi Michele,
Sounds you are getting some great suggestions.
At the risk of being too obvious, the San Francisco Public Library is a
great stop! Also, the California Academy of Science (at 875 Howard St betw.
4th and 5th Sts) has a new exhibit on Chocolate that is supposed to be fun
and tasty. Of course, the other exhibits are great and the Naturalist
Center offers lots to all ages. Yerba Buena Gardens is lovely and you might
luck into some great entertainment. It's pricey, but HyperBowl in Portal
One at the Metreon is fun. You might want to go to tea at Lovejoy's on
Church Street--or, if you want an upscale tea experience, check out the
Sheraton Palace or the Ritz. The Mission has some great murals and Precita
Eyes http://www.precitaeyes.org/tours.html offers walking tours on Sat. and
Sun.
Factory Tours can be fun. The Basic Brown Bear factory has a tour in which
you can make your own bear. http://www.basicbrownbear.com/a_tours.cfm#tours
The Jelly Belly factory in Fairfield is also good.
I know you have been asked to compile a list of responses. I think that
list could make a great addition to our chapter website.
Cheers,
Maggie

Subject: Help: my 12yo niece is visiting!!!

Hey Ya'll,
I have a few ideas of things to do/places to go with her (and my
sister who is close to my age), but I'd really like to get some fresh
ideas. My niece is a complex mix of tomboy and girly girl (are they
all?). If you could share your ideas of the best things to do in the
bay area (for both my niece and my sis), i'd be much obliged.
thanks, m
