Here's a local resource for old telephone books that I remember from my
days as a library assistant in the Alameda County system 1980-1988. I
just checked with the SFPL main branch info line, who assure me that
they are still in business:

I may need to find yellow pages for Oakland for these years.
I remember phone fiche, but don't think those are around anymore.
Any ideas who might have these either on microfilm or in print?
My first guess is SBC (formerly Pacific Bell) who published them.
