The melting point of styrofoam is not well defined because there is a
range of compounds that could be in the particular styrofoam you are
dealing with. However, it should melt at a little over 250 degrees
Fahrenheit nad it will definitely melt if comes in contact with a
soldering iron (about 700 degrees). If you need to know more exactly, you
might try asking a chemist at Dow, or if you are able, do your own
experimenting.
