hello

I am in desperate need of some information that I need to present in class
Monday morning.....if you could help me understand the following questions I
would greatly appreciate it!
1) why are rotors and stators in an alternator or generator laminated instead
of 1 piece of steel?
2) what is an eddy current?
3) how does this reduce generator or alternator efficiency?
