It's not clear from your e-mail whether or not you understand that the
snacks we talk about here are science experiments. However, you may
find one, Sense of Taste
http://www.exploratorium.edu/snacks/your_sense_of_taste/index.html of
interest. You might also want to check out the archived webcasts on
wine http://webevents.broadcast.com/exploratorium/wine1199/ and
chocolate http://www.exploratorium.edu/chocolate/index.html which may
discuss topics of interest to you.

Hello,

I'm currently doing some reasearch for English 150 here at Grand Valley
State University. I'm working on the topic of taste and how we as
humans differentiate between a good taste and a bad taste. I'm
wondering if you have any psychological or phsysiological ideas on this
question. Are the tastes we like and dislike based on genetics? Are
they based on past experiences in our lives? Do foods even taste the
same to me as they do to you? These are just a few of the questions
that I'm searching for answers for, and I'm hoping that I can get your
ideas and opinions on. Also if you know of any resourses that could
help me out, that would also be greatly apprieciated.

             Thanks,

                         Josh
