Guess what! My son figured it out. It was just the phrasing of it. We were
expecting the pendulum to swing from east to west as opposed to north and
south. We feel you should not take it out. It's a great experiment. Just look
at the wording of it. Also, on the diagram- the numbers/measurements need to
coordinate with measurements in materials. Did not take long once we stopped
expecting it to swing east to west!
