The 'Food as Conductors' activity was designed to allow visitors to test the conductivity of various edible items, and turn their collected data into musical compositions.

We used crickets with midi boards to play music based on the cricket sensor readings.

The sensors we were using were simple, two copper pieces of wire attached to the sensora port on the cricket.

Experimentation ranged from very simple to complex. We included a table of motors and buzzers, where visitors could see what foods might power them.

We also had crickets with digitial displays showing the readings they were measuring from things like a bowl full of vinegar while adding tablespoons of baking soda.
