Setup:

• Three 8' tables

Set up for fan/windmill building activity, whirligig assembly and cricket programming and testing.

• Electricity

For powering a fan and two laptops

• Models

Windmill, whirligig, and cricket sensor models built ahead of time, set out and used as initial examples.

• Programming Models

Several model Logo Blocks programs could be prepared, so visitors can make a first attempt at using the crickets to actuate a model whirligig, then build their own. (Diane's suggestion)

• Chairs or Stools

Seating was set out around the tables and on the perimeter of the construction area. The chairs at the tables were not always used, but allowed (in most cases) visitors the opportunity to slow down and become engaged in the activity. Chairs around the perimeter served as a subtle barrier between those working at the tables and the rest of the exhibit floor. They were primarily used by parents, grandparents, friends, and other visitors to sit down and watch the activity.
