I've been following all the chat about cookware. I have to add my 2¢ worth.
I laid my mother and father to rest in late 96 and early 97. They were 84
and almost 86. I enherited my mother's cast aluminum roaster. She used it
to cook food for all of us for as long as I can remember. Neither of them
were afflicted with Alzheimer's or even common senility. I roasted a 10lb
turkey this week. I placed it in the oven at about 6:00 in the evening and
turned the oven off at 11:00. At 6:00am the next morning I removed the
roaster from the oven and lifted off the lid. It was still hot enough for
steam to escape when the lid was lifted. The turkey was delicious...cooked
to perfection and not the least bit dry. I would require some significant
imperical evidence that my cookware was dangerous before I would give up its
many attributes.
