If you get a car moving and shut it off it will not roll forever, even in
neutral. There is friction in moving parts, one of which is the tires.
They deform as they roll, squishing at the bottom. This heats up the
rubber, as it changes shape. Thus kinetic energy of car motion is
converted into heat. eiger
