Dear Pinholers,

This summer the Bay Area Biotechnology Education Consortium (BABEC) and PE
Biosystems will again offer exciting biotech workshops for Bay Area high
school and community college teachers and Bay Area high school students.
The courses last three days, 9AM-5PM daily, at the PE Biosystems campus in
Foster City. They are excellent opportunities to learn about the technology
behind much of gene research. I recommend them for bio/biotech teachers and
students!

Teacher Courses:
PCR and Bioinformatics for the Classroom (June 21-23)
Mitochondrial DNA Sequencing and Internet Applications (August 16-18)

Student Course:
PCR and Bioinformatics (Session 1: July 5 - 7, Session 2: July 19 - 21)

Applications must be received by Friday May 5, 2000. Information is
available at www.babec.org or by contacting Maria Abilock at
abilocmc@pebio.com or (650) 554-2990.
