A student sent me this website. It's a video of a Blue Angel that (against
orders) broke the sound barrier while flying over the Bay. First of all,
it's a cool video, so worth checking out. It requires Quicktime.

I also have a few questions:

Do you know if there is a write-up on the video somewhere?

Do you know if the plumes of white "smoke" are sound waves (that's what my
student says) or engine exhaust?

If they are sound waves, do you know why they are visible in the video?

If they are not sound waves, why do they have a conical shape?
