Dear Yibi,

Snack #20 in the Snackbook is on capacitance. It uses a partially
foil-wrapped film can as a Leyden jar. I used them with physical science
students with quite a bit of success. (Not sure why it was always the boys
who wanted to see how much of a shock they could stand, though.) Not a
really quantitative lab, but it does demonstrate the concept really well.
