Hi Paul,
Enthalpy is a measure of the internal energy of a system at constant
pressure. For large assemblies of molecules or atoms, this energy cannot be
measured or calculated. Chemists only refer to the change in enthalpy for a
chemical process or a change of state. For example, the enthalpy change when
water evaporates is about 41 kJ/mole.
