Have I somehow fallen off the mailing list? This is the last Pinhole list
serve that I have received. Can I be reinstated? Yibi Smith

Thurgood Marshall Academic High School, a public high school in San
Francisco with a focus on math science and technology, is looking for a
PreEngineering Teacher. PreEngineering is a one-semester project based
class that all 9th grade students take. Right now some of the projects
are an egg drop, roller coasters, working with the Lego robotics kits,
electronics, etc... A curriculum is available, but there is also
flexibility to add your own ideas. We have a machine shop at the school
that could be used for projects. The goal of the class is to get students
doing hands on projects and to build interest in science, math, and
technology.

If you are interested, please contact Nicci Nunes via email
(inunes@muse.sfusd.edu) or telephone (415) 695-5612 x3100.

Hey pinholers

I put together a really great 3-D slide show using
polarizing filter 3-D glasses instead of the red-blue
kind. I took slide pictures with my own camera. For
each shot, I took 2 picturesof the same thing, moving
my camera to the side about 3-4 inches in between
pictures. Then I use 2 projectors with alternating
polarizing filters--oriented at 45 degree angles
acutally. The projectors put two overlaping images on
the screen (which has to be metalic or "silvered")that
look blurry when you look at them directly. But throw
on a pair of polarizing filter 3-D glasses--which have
a filter for each eye, also at 45 degree angles--and
voila! 3-D pictures!

Here's a wesite though which i ordered the glasses

The only problem with the polarizing filters is that
if you tilt your head to the side, the effect is
ruined.

Fun!
