In operating a homemade electrostatic motor with the use of a Vandegraf generator, where do I get the charge opposite to that on the isolated sphere?  I've tried attatching to the base, then the base without the ground plug plugged in.  Still, no strong opposite charge for the opposite stator.  Help please!
