  Jordan Fundamentals Grant Program Offers Funding for
         Teachers

   Deadline: June 15, 2002

   Created with a donation from Michael Jordan's Jordan Brand,
   a division of NIKE, Inc., the Jordan Fundamentals Grant
   Program aims to support teachers in America's public
   schools.

   The program awards grants Of $2,500 to teachers or para-
   professionals who work with public school students in grades
   6 through 12 and who demonstrate instructional creativity
   and exemplify high learning expectations for economically
   disadvantaged students. At least 40 percent of the school's
   student population must be eligible for the free or reduced
   school lunch program, and applicants must develop an original
   lesson plan or thematic unit. Unique teaching methods and
   projects are encouraged.
