We have picked up some new titles to tell you about.

1. Antarctica and the Arctic : the Complete Encyclopedia / David McGonigal,
Lynn Woodworth ; foreword by Sir Edmund Hillary.
Reference (Non-circulating)
G 587 .A57 2001

A large colorful and very informative work, there's alot more then than ice
and penguins in the south and eskimos and polar bears in the north..

As this is a non circulating book you have to drop by to see it at the same
time you are assured it will be here.

And of course be sure to regularly check
http://www.exploratorium.edu/origins/antarctica/index.html for updated
accounts of the trip to the far southlands that some of our staff are
taking.

2. Sea otter biologist [kit]
Classroom activity circ.
QL 737 .C25 S43 1997

Part of the Wonderwise Women in Science Learning Series.

This kit consists of a CD-ROM, VHS video and an activity book.

The focus of the kit is a research trip by Brenda Ballachey to Prince
William Sound in Alaska, where the Exxon Valdez spill took place, to study
the otters with two women who are pursuing careers in marine biology.

More new titles next week.
