This week has been a busy one and I have more stuff to share with you.

A web page on the environmental damage being caused by earthworms being
introduced into forests that lacked them.

It seems that earthworms were wiped out in many areas during the last ice
age. Since they can't cross streams as they don't swim well they just did
not return to parts of North America until introduced by human action.

And you thought they were just helpful beasties in your compost.

A small beautiful book worthy of your time, even if you have little
interest in astronomy.

If it were not for Jon Carroll mentioning this one in the Chronicle I
probably would have missed ordering it.

When Edward Tufte wanted to publish his first book the commercial presses
were just not up to the quality he wanted. So he did the job himself. Until
then he has continued to publish fine works on how information is visually
presented.
