Do you want to improve the use of video in your classroom? Are you looking for fun, hands-on activities to finish out the school year?

KQED's Education Network is offering a free workshop for science teachers. Please feel free to pass this information on to other science teachers at your school.

Companion Workshop to the new KQED television documentary "The Nobel: Visions of Our Century"

Since it was first awarded 100 year ago, the Nobel Prize has marked the most important scientific and social events of the 20th Century. KQED's Education Network is now offering teacher workshops demonstrating how to use this engaging television program in middle- and high- school science classrooms.

Workshop will be held:

Wednesday, March 20, 4:00-6:00pm Chabot Space & Science Center, Computer Lab Classroom 10000 Skyline Blvd. Oakland, CA **Refreshments provided!**

Topics covered will include: -hands-on activities on growing cultures, the power of scientific observation, and more; -helping students explore the value of "pure" scientific research; -contemporary science and ethics.

Workshop presentations will be reinforced with extensive lesson plans online at www.pbs.org/nobel
