Subject: Science Buddies opportunities for HS students

Hello High School Science Teachers,
Here is a great opportunity for your students to share their science
expertise! Science Buddies is a mentoring program designed to encourage
participation in science fairs. Experienced high school students are
matched with middle school students (of the same gender) and take the lead
mentoring role on a science fair project. The middle school student does
the actual work, the high school students offers guidance and feedback.
Adult advisors, usually professional scientists, complete each team and
back up high school mentors when they need it.
Why should your students participate?
This will add distinction to their college applications!
They will get to interact with science professionals!
Minimum requirements:
1) Easy Internet access - all communication will be via email, so access to
the internet and email is essential.
2) Commitment: Mentors will spend about 1 hour/week from November - March
working with a middle school student.
3) Strong science background and previous science fair experience.
