Thanks for all of the tips! I love that any question that seems to come up
on Pinhole is answered many times over by the vast resource of Pinhole
readers.

My VandeGraaff did continue to run warm but it also ran well. I've been
using it for about 12 years and it ran as well as it has ever run after a
few minor repairs and cleaning (about 2 hours worth). I did use my bare
hands when repairing it and fixing it. Next time I'll use gloves. I have a
lot of demos for the VandeGraaff - some of which I got from watching Paul
Hewitt's video on electrostatics and some from being in the Exploratorium
TI. The only demo that I do with the Wimshurst is the 'Chain of Monks'.
But I found a web-site that advertises demo's with the Wimshurst. I just
haven't had time to read through it yet.

That is a great idea to buy items directly from the maker or off of Ebay to
save money.
