Forward form IISME:

Building Bridges from the Classroom to the Research
Laboratory
What:

The Edward Teller Science & Technology Education
Symposium provides a bridge to link the science
classroom with the research laboratory. The goal of
the symposium is to provide high school and community
college science educators the opportunity to explore
ongoing research at the Lawrence Livermore National
Laboratory in physics, chemistry, biology,
environmental science, nuclear chemistry and
biophotonics. Participants will tour state-of-the-art
research laboratories, talk with researchers about
their work, and attend "hands-on" workshops. This
program is offered through a collaborative partnership
with the Edward Teller Education Center (ETEC). ETEC
is funded by the University of California Office of
the President. ETEC is a collaboration between UC
Davis, UC Merced, Lawrence Livermore National
Laboratory, and the school districts within the
greater Livermore Tri-Valley area and the San Joaquin
Valley.
