I use birdseed (wild) as an interesting and fast
germinating set of plants. My students can graph
germination and growth of each type of seed in the bag
with the millet germinating in 2-3 days and growing
very quickly. The sunflower seeds offer quite a
contrast and look like monsters compared to the
millet, although they take much longer to germinate.
Health food stores often carry wheatgrass seeds. Don't
forget to bring a coconut to your demo as one of the
larger seeds to show.

With firm handshake,
Raleigh
