I didn't see a reply to your question. Oxygen and nitrogen in the atmosphere
absorb selective wavelengths of solar radiation and produce the dark lines you
observed. Also the water and carbon dioxide in the atmosphere may also absorb
solar radiation and produce weak dark lines.
