Anita and Jason-

The things with red and black knobs are microscopes. Put the slide under the metal bar directly under the pin hole. The glass bulb acts as a magnifier. The red knob adjusts the mirror to direct light into the glass bulb. The black knob raises and lowers the bulb to improve focus. The pinhole does the rest to your eye. Really pretty cool little gizmos ans a fun first lab activity on microscope week!

I think maybe they came with old SAPA labs or something.
