 Explore the Universe! Program

Astronomy into Elementary School Classrooms

Let Chabot Space & Science Center bring the universe to your school!

>From January - June, 2005 Chabot Ambassadors will visit participating
schools to work with teachers and provide schools with an out of this world
experience. Special emphasis will be given to 3rd& 5th grades based on the
California State Science Standards and National Standards. Each school will
receive the following services:

Activities - Space & science activities based on the California State
Science Standards and National Standards.

Visits - A complimentary visit to Chabot for all 3rd& 5th grade classes
participating in the program whose teachers who have attended our August
workshop.

Teacher Training - Access to teacher training opportunities and science
teacher resources at Chabot for all participating teachers

Host Opportunities - The opportunity to host an Explore the Universe Fair or
Family Science Night with lots of hands-on activities

How To Get Your School Involved - August 2-6, 2004, Chabot Space & Science
Center will train 3rd - 5th grade teachers who want to represent their
school in the program. Training includes an optional visit to NASA Ames.
