I picked this up from the AAPT mailing list.

Hello Fellow Physics Teacher,

As you know, our New Teacher Workshop has received some funding that
make it possible to hold workshops independent of our sectional AAPT
meetings. This effort is now officially called "Physics Teacher SOS"
or simply PTSOS. Our first workshop is scheduled for Saturday,
September 18th, here at San Mateo High School.

Dean Baird, Stephanie Finander and I have been working on putting
together a flyer and brochure to publicize this effort and that our
first meeting September 18th. Currently we plan to do 3 workshops
over the course of the school year so that it gives the new teacher 5
opportunities to reach out for support (3 workshops and 2 AAPT
meetings).

We need your help in two ways. First, please send me the
names/emails/phone numbers of any new teachers so we can personally
contact them and invite them to our workshops. Remember, "new" means
anybody who thinks they need help--which is just about all of us!

Second, we need mentors to volunteers to help support them. More on
this later.

We have a PTSOS list serve and are working on getting a website up
and going. Clarence will be adding something on our AAPT section
website soon.

Again, please help us identify the new teachers at your school or in
your area so that we can contact them.

Thanks so much!

PS Hope the opening of school went well!
