What about that cool exhibit they had at the Exploratorium where they had
several pendulums of different lengths along one bar. You would start them
moving and watch the patterns of being in sync or out. Maybe for the math
component he could calculate how often their swings will coincide? It's
pretty cool artisticially, but I'm easily engaged at playgrounds too.
