Charlie,
What grade level is your student? I would bet that even though pendulum
equations are well known to science they may not be to him or her. It's the
inquiry and discovery that are the best parts about science fair. Of course
there are a slough of online resources available re: science fair, simply do
a google search if you haven't already. I say, as long as it's a student
pursuing something that is unknown to them, it would be great experience.
