There are a few different shake tables described on this page:
http://jclahr.com/science/earth_science/shake/
and links at the bottom to some others, including one from the Exploratorium.

There's a new Exploratorium version in which the table is resting on 4 marbles
and held in place by 4 rubberbands (one on each corner.  The shaker
mechanism is similar to the one on the web (an off-center mass swinging on
a small motor).
