Hi Charlotte and other Pinholers,
I have gotten fresh sheep hearts (sold as "Bio Hearts") many times
from Smith Meats in San Francisco. Smith Meats supplied the
Exploratorium with cow eyes for many years.
Call and leave a message for Leah or Elmer at (415) 626 6818. The
last time I bought the hearts, I ordered them at least one week in
advance, and I paid around $2 per heart. Tell them you are an
Exploratorium teacher when you call. Elmer and Leah are there really
early in the morning, so you can usually pick up the hearts before
school.
