Subject: Math Position

The Jewish Community High School of the Bay has an
opening for a math teacher.

We are a small, new school with about 150 students.
This year will be our first graduating class of 26
students. All have been accepted to college, with many
planning on attending one of the UC's. Additionally, a
few plan on attending some of the private universities
on the East Coast, including Brandeis, U. Rochester,
and St. John's College in Annapolis (the Great Books
School).

We are a new school with all the new school challenges
and excitement. Despite a 4000 year religious
tradition, we have no particular traditions in how to
run a school. If you have an idea and it's good we
might adopt it. You won't hear the response that we've
never done it that way.

JCHS is the place to get in on the ground floor and
become one of the teachers that the alumni speak about
years from now.

Although we only accept Jewish students right now, we
have teachers of many different religions and some who
are atheists. Our compensation is very competitive.

We are on break right now -- it's Passover -- but we
will return on Tuesday, May 3. If you are interested,
please contact Dr. Kim Schneider at 415-345-9777 x
166, at home at 408-578-8914, or
kschnieder@jchsofthebay.org.

You may also contact me, Zeke Kossover a math and
physics teacher, for a more informal discussion of the
school.

For more information about the school, please see our
website at <http://www.jchsofthebay.org>.

Vision Statement

The Jewish Community High School of the Bay (JCHS) is
a co-educational day school providing a rigorous,
college preparatory curriculum in general and Judaic
studies. We are committed to an extensive enrichment
program, including the arts and athletics.

JCHS serves the San Francisco Bay Community and is
open to all Jewish students regardless of prior Jewish
educational experience. JCHS is guided by the rhythms
of the Jewish calendar, Jewish culture and tradition
and by an inextricable link to the land of Israel. Our
goal is to provide our students with the education
necessary to gain acceptance into the finest
universities and to engage in life-long Jewish
learning enabling our graduates to employ the skills
and lessons taught within our walls to their lives
within both the Jewish and the wider community.
