It is unfortunate that miscommunications, misunderstandings, and rude
people can ruin what started out to be something special. But it
happens. It only takes one bad apple to spoil the whole bushel. Is the
Exploratorium still free each Wednesday? Can field trips be scheduled
at that time? Try to swallow the bitter pill and resolve to make the
most of a bad situation if you do ever get the fee waiver. Don't let
your experience color the students' experience. Classroom teachers will
understand and empathize when non school people NEVER will. Another
teacher...not affiliated with the Exploratorium...who has also felt
unwelcome there once because of one "bad apple".
