Hey fellow pinholers.
Below you will find this Spring's Schedule of classes (you can also find
the same document on-line in the alumni section of the Teacher Institute
web site)

Exploratorium Teacher Institute
Spring 1998
Saturday Alumni Workshop Schedule

Dear Teacher Institute Alumnus:

The Spring 1998 dates and topics for our workshops for summer institute
alumni are on the back of this letter. We are offering our regular
Saturdays plus additional after-school life sciences workshops.

We have a large number of alumni in our teacher network, and as you may
have noticed in past semesters, classes fill up quickly. Because we are
limited in the number of people we can accommodate in a particular
workshop, it is important that if you sign up, you attend. No shows cause
colleagues to lose opportunities.

You may choose TWO Saturday sessions. Please indicate your choices on the
form on the reverse of this page, keep a copy for yourself, cut off the
end and mail it back to us by February 13, 1998. If you wish, you may
e-mail your selection to karenm@exploratorium.edu Indicate a third choice
which will serve as an alternate date in case one of the classes is filled.

If you sign up for a workshop, please come on the date you select. We will
not contact you to say you were registered. If one of your choices is no
longer available, we will call you, and leave
a message with the change in registration, otherwise come to the
Exploratorium on the days you have selected. At the end of the semester
you will receive a stipend of $12.50 per hour.

Each workshop focuses on a particular topic. We will investigate different
aspects of the theme, sometimes from a physical or biological perspective.
If you have a classroom demo that you do that fits in with the topic and
you would like to share it with other teachers, call us to arrange
materials to present your activity.

We are serving a large family of alumni. Please choose your dates with
care so that we can accommodate everyone. If your plans change, please
call us by the Thursday preceding the session. Mark the dates you choose on
your calendar and also on the enclosed page which you should display in a
prominent place so you don't forget.

Check out our TI website www.exploratorium.edu/ti There's some new
activities and TI happenings on line. A reminder, if you have library
books out, please return them right away so we can have our materials
reinventoried and ready to go with the new updated borrowing system.
Currently there are 2000 books that are missing or borrowed from the
library.

PAUL, LINDA, KAREN M., KAREN K., MODESTO, ERIC, LORI, HEIDI, CORAL, ART,
DEAN and DON.
