KQED--Seeking Teacher Consultants

Are you a creative, experienced 3-9th grade teacher who loves math
and
science? Do you have experience developing lessons and presenting
workshops to colleagues? Are you available to collaborate with KQED
this
spring? Do you want to earn up to $860? The KQED Center for
Education &
Lifelong Learning (CELL) is looking for eight creative, experienced
teacher
consultants to develop and present lessons on using video and the
internet
to teach math and science in grades 3-9.

As a consultant, you will be invited to attend two half-day training
sessions at KQED on developing and presenting the lessons, meet for
two
additional afternoons to collaborate with other teacher consultants,
and
develop and write your lessons on your own time. We'll help you
access
video and internet resources, and provide you with model lessons
developed
by teachers across the country. Then, you will teach other teachers
during
CELL's upcoming National Teacher Training Institute for Math, Science
and
Technology (NTTI) to be held May 8, 1999 at the San Mateo County
Office of
Education. A generous stipend of $120/day will be provided and you
can earn
up to $800 depending on the number of lessons you create. The first
teacher
consultant training at KQED will take place in late January.

The purpose of NTTI is to help educators learn successful teaching
strategies that integrate the creative use of video and on-line media
technology into math and science instruction.
