Subject: Hotplate coins
Does anyone remember the Saturday workshop about three years ago entitled
"Money Science" where we heated up coins on a hotplate to change their color?
Why (in 25 words or less :) ) does that happen? I assume that there are some
sort(s) of different oxides? forming on the coin surface - I didn't find a
writeup of that activity although I found a writeup of everything else...
