The Delancey Street Foundation invites applications for a full time
teaching position at Life Learning Academy Charter School in San Francisco,
CA.

Life Learning Academy is an exciting, innovative new charter school,
developed as a part of the juvenile justice reform for the City and County

extended family, in which students and faculty learn together as members of

( ages 14 to 18 ) who have previously struggled in school, by providing a
structured environment with high expectations, rigorous, individualized and
challenging curriculum, and committed, multi-talented faculty.

Life Learning Academy students learn academic, vocational, and social
skills through demanding, project-based activities, including: building
renovation, development and management of a cafÈ, health education,
athletic training, computer technology, conflict resolution and peer
mentoring. Through these exciting projects and opportunities for
cooperative learning, faculty and students meet high standards of academic,
social, vocational, physical and emotional success and well-being. As one
member of the San Francisco Unified School District Board of Education
recently described, "Life Learning Academy is the most exciting new program
for young people weíve seen in years."
