Subject: digestion of steak and potatoes

Pinholers -

Had a student ask me a question today for which I have no answer. We were
talking about carbohydrates and she said that she heard that one of the
enzymes that breaks down a steak cancels out one of the enzymes that breaks
down a potato. Therefore, if you eat a steak with a potato, it is more
difficult to digest the steak (or potato) than if you were to eat each one
separately or with other food items (such as a steak with a carrot, or a
potato with chicken). Is this true? If so, does anyone know the specifics?

Thanks!
