The first pictures I took with a cheap ($20) Web Cam
that I adjusted a little. It's not that hard to take crisp images of structures at a scale of less than 0.1 mm. That's much better than what we can see with our bare eyes!

Currently, I am trying to find an easy way to attach a bright LED to the Web Cam. It turns out that the key to getting good microscopic images using a web cam is to shine a lot of light on the object. The resulting high contrast makes it easier to distinguish the tiny structures.
I'll keep you posted on the latest progress...
