Traffic flow for one weekend day in April.

This is based on video data collected by two overhead cameras that recorded unidentifying information of people moving across 21 distinct 'borders' between different areas of the museum. Each camera cycled among approximately 6 shots between 10 AM and 4 PM, recording information for 5 minutes before moving to the next shot. We then counted the number of people who crossed each border and interpolated between times to generate the above time-lapse. Traffic flow between areas in the back of the museum (between Mind and Seeing) could not be seen by the cameras. However, the flow into and out of the entrances to the back is included in this visualization.

The visualization was built with Processing

The cameras were programmed by Adam Klinger.
