I have restricted the discussion and the examples to some of the basic considerations of exhibit pedagogy and have primarily stressed the flexibility, patience and willingness to discard and start over again that exhibit development requires. I have used these examples to suggest the kind of discipline that is required on the part of exhibit creators if the audience is to be relieved of the constraints on exploration and behavior that have done such damage to the learning process in other contexts.
